Due to conflicts with a "real job," I haven't been able to take part with other CFF'ers in the Chattanooga Christian Fishing Interim the last two years. But this year, I was "all in."

It was great... yesterday some obligatory classroom lecture foolishness, a great lunch and a visit to the TN Aquarium. Then today we all divided up all the kids and hit the water. I was privileged to be accompanied by 9th graders, Gaines and Roddrick. Just a thimble-full of fishing experience between the two of them. Roddrick had never been in a boat. But by days end, they were both well indoctrinated.

They put eight keeper crappie in the boat, included one TARP white crappie that Gaines caught. But I would conservatively estimate the two of them caught 100 yellow bass and short crappie. They were never lacking for action, even if the keeper crappie were really hard to come by today.

It was great to be able to share with these two fine young men. I'll be looking forward to chance to do it again nest year.
