Like Strato G I was part of the CCS interim fishing class that met out at HBSP ramp at 8 this AM and fished until 3. I had Daniel and Seth with me all day and when Jimbow had to stop fishing at 1PM I picked up Jeremy at HBSP. We started out fishing on the main lake with a typical winter crappie pattern which had more fish on Monday following it. I had a 12.5 incher on my first cast to a spot and I thought it might be a banner day in that spot but we couldn't get another crappie from that spot all day. Went to assorted winter docks with the water temp on the main lake at around 41 to 42 degree and decided to hit an adjacent slough to see if the fish had moved into it. We found water temps much warmer, almost 45 degrees but no fish showing up on the docks there. Went to another main lake dock with 4 keepers there. Had one or two more keepers on the main lake but the fish for the most part had left the winter pattern it seemed. Went back into WT as the wind had picked up and fished a couple of places that produced Monday but no crappie there. Went to the dock to pick up Jeremy and came back to the creek, good decision. Caught 60 crappie off of one dock and had to leave them biting at 2:45. Ended up with between 70 and 80 crappie, a couple of small bass, a few stripe and bluegills. All in all, a good day of fishing that ended up with a good bit of catching at the end. Thanks Matt M. (Redheadiesel) for asking me to participate. Thanks to the kids for sharing the boat with me today!

On the main lake and deeper docks the best count was 8 to 10, in the creek where the fish were very active in much warmer water a 4 count was all it took. We used 1/32oz jigs all day long with Panfish Assassins and BG shads in my favorite color. Never changed colors all day long

Water temp on the main lake was 41 to 42 with the creek being in the 52 to 54 range.
