So I work close to California Ave. and the Jordan. Has anyone fished out this way or to the north or south of here? Would love to hit a few spots on my lunch break!!
Thanks J

I work not too far from there. I've looked around that area and haven't found anything too appealing yet. Most of what I have found is slow channelized water. I'm looking to target fish with the fly and have been trying to find an area with a little more structure and current seams.

About 1400 W 1700 S, lots of parking close to the river at the water park, lots of room to sit on the bank.

I looked at the water park area the other day. It looked like the main river channel was to the west and a smaller channel with clearer water was to the east. Which one is best to fish and what kind of fish are found in this area?
Thanks

The one to the west is the bypass canal. I fish it 3-4 days a week in the summer after they put the water back in. They both have the same fish as utah lake. The canal has quite afew decent cats and some real big carp in it. The cats will start in there in about another month or so. You'll need a net with a long handle as most of the bank is 3-4 ft. above the water most everywhere. Good Luck [fishin]
