Fished Jordanelle last evening with a fellow employee. We started fishing at about 5:00 PM. Shortly after we got set up, Jacobl walked past. I don't know how long he had been fishing; however, he said that fishing had been slow until 4:00 PM, when it got hot. We fished until 8:45 PM. We missed quite a few bites at the start (probably was using too large of jigs) and we managed to catch 6 rainbows (the largest was around 16 inches) and only two perch. TD is correct, it is tough to catch perch in the dark. Managed to only catch one after it got dark.

Hey Kent , When I went to Rockport early in the morning I had no problem hooking perch in the dark . It was fast action , but the moon was out also . I need to get out to Jordanelle before the ice is gone . Thanks for the report .

Not sure how cold it was -- I would guess it was about 20 degrees. Yes I used my underwater light, but it only lasted 1 hour 15 minutes before the battery run down. Then we put it on the fishfinder battery for the last twenty minutes before we left (no fish caught during those 20 minutes). The ice was about 6 inches thick. There was a little slush in a few areas, but most of it had frozen. BTW -- we fished in about 18 feet of water on the south side.
