Rockport 1-10 04

[]Did anyone stay down in the fog today. I think all of Utah found their way to Rockport. There wasn't hardly a place to park,but once on the ice there is always plenty of room to fish. Met Wiper today. We both fished by the boat ramp in about 32' of water. Early morning fishing was great. Either a perch or a rainbow every cast.Then as a lot of late comers started pounding the ice, the fishing slowed way down.By 11:00 hits were slow in coming but a few good size perch and several smaller bows were still biting.I kept 1 Brown that went 16.5" and 1 Bow that went 15" that my wife caught.All in all a good day on the ice.DKSRenegade

DKS it was great meeting you and your family today. That was a very nice brown that you caught, I acually thought it was bigger than 16.5. Yper Jr. and I ended up catching several bows all let go, brought home each a limit of perch. It did sure shut down around 11am then picked back up as some of the people left.

Wiper it was good talking to you on the two way today. Things shut down for us also about 11:00. but that was ok we had to leave shortly after that anyway to help some friends move. We ended up with about 40 trout but only two keepers the rest were small an four pearch. What a great day to be out of the city. By the way did you see the ranger up there today I looked for him to see if he would give us a discount on parking next weekend for the get together but could not find him their recording said they would call back if you left a message which i did yesterday but have not heard from him. Maybe next time we will be a little closer it was just to far for me to walk today. May go up and take the grandson tomorrow because he could't go today will let you know how we do. Again it was fun talking to you.

Fish4grandkids it was great talking with you also, to bad we were so far apart or I would have injoyed talking with you in person. Sounds like you and your family had a great time on the ice.
