Got to the Ladders at about 0830, about a half mile of open water straight out from the inlet and about a quarter mile wide, perfect! No breeze, no one else in the water, told my buddy that we were gonna kill em'.. He got his toon ready and I got my fist toon blown up and went to fill my 2nd, my room was in the back of the truck for the ride up in 20 degree weather, must have got brittle because I went to rotate my fill hole and my bladder tore.....hell!!!!
Well, sent my buddy out in his toon, I threw on the waders and waded a flat that ran along the ice edge, 3 casts in and I get slammed by a slot buster!! Figured I would be killing them, nope, only one of the day and my buddy got nothing from the toon'...stayed for a few hours and then hit the middle Provo to finish up, nice weather, 1 nice fish and I get a new toon out of it! Anyways there will soon be a lot of open water, there was 20 yards in a lot of spots around chicken creek also. 3rd pic is the bugger he took.
Also, my buddy did not mark many fish on his toon. Another week or two for the water to warm I bet.
