Kicken around East Canyon with pics
#1
I fished East Canyon on Thursday from my tube. I fished the south end of the reservoir from 7:30 until 3:00 and caught a few 12" - 15" rainbows. I used a medium sink line (#3) and size 6-8 crystal buggers in red/black and olive/red. The water temp was 45-46 degrees and the visibility in the water was about 6'. It started out a little snowy but cleared up nicely later in the day. I don't normally take a picture of a 12" fish but it was the first trout I had caught from EC. I had been up there two times several years ago and the only thing I caught was a crawdad. The reservoir level is only at 61% full so it is about 33' down. The fishing was slower than I expected after hearing other reports but then it's probably just me. I was just happy to catch something with fins on it.[Wink]

Thanks.

They hung around most of the morning and flew off just before noon. Probably headed out to grab some lunch.[Wink]

That is one of the benefits of float tubing. You have a lot of time to take in the surroundings when the fishing is slow.
