Willard 04/13/15
#1
Hit willard this evening around 6:00 PM on my float tube. Tried an assortment of jigs/lures with no luck. Tried worms and still nothing. Finally I decided to throw on an orange spinner and BAM I found my reel whining. Landed my first ever wiper which was an awesome experience! I then proceeded to catch two nice crappie with the same thing. It got dark, so called it a day. Fished next to 2 boats for a while who seemed to be consistently bringing in Crappie.

Great day at the bay

Thanks for the report, I'm wanting more and more to give Willard a try next week. Out of curiosity what kind of spinner were you using? Was it an orange Panther Martin or Mepps? Just curious.

Were you floating as well or on a boat?

I haven't been active on this board long, but would love to put some faces with names out there fishing.

It was that orange panther martin that did the trick, who would have thought...

Now you are going to be hooked hunting wiper like the rest of us! and to think, we used to drive 3+ hours to go trout fishing in freezing cold temperatures...lol
Good Job!
