Just had a long talk with the owner of BFT, at least the only owner that will talk to me. He told me that after the site went down, that some of us would have access right away while others would have to wait up to 48 hours. If you know someone that still can't get back on the site, tell them that they should have access again by tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest.

Must be because of your phone and your PC are on a different network, same as Albinotrout.

Mine was down most of Saturday and then came up late Saturday night, then down again Sunday morning and back up later in the day. Kind of had me wondering what would happen to the catfish contest and flotilla without the site. I was starting to wonder why I was out fishing in the cold rain storm for cats that wouldn't bite if the contest wasn't going to happen. Glad it came back to life I don't push myself hard enough to catch big fish without the contest. Anyway is it back to stay or is there still financial issues? Later J

It was never a financial issue, it was just that the current majority owner of BFT did not renew the domain name, so it went down because he wasn't paying attention. This has been coming for a long time because he has just been letting the site go (this is not theangler)but I hope this will be an eye opener for him and much needed upgrades will take place now. As far as the cat contest goes, nothing will change and once everyone is back on the site(still many members that don't have access), there should not be any more issues with the site going down.

That is the same issue others are reporting, it will all come back up sooner or later but I have a question for you and others that lost contact with BFT for a few days. Did you have withdrawals because you lost access to one of you favorite fishing sites?
I heard this from several members that were almost at a loss because they could not get on the site. Seems like BFT has become a big part of all our lives, sure we can live without it but it seems we are better off with it, than without it. BFT binds a lot of us together because it is a common theme in our lives that we all enjoy.
Our goal is for BFT to be a big group of friends that interact with each other through fishing report and replies to those fishing reports. It seems in the world today, everyone wants to take what others give without giving something back and posting fishing reports yourself and replying to others that post fishing reports is all we are asking to help keep BFT Utah stay an active fishing site. (This last part was not directed at you Kent but the many others that read BFT utah on a daily bases but never contribute[ ].)

What I missed was having access to PMs so that I could firm up an upcoming fishing trip. Everything else to read would have been nice, but not a huge deal.

[#0000FF]For me it was just part two of a weekend vacation. My wife spent the weekend in Park City with her sisters so the house was quiet and empty. Then, with no drama going on BFT and Mama Nature putting the lid on fishing I was actually able to catch up on some projects...and some uninterrupted naps. At my age naps are not a luxury...they are a necessity.

It is nice to be back 'in touch' but it was hard since we thought it was something wrong with our set up... once we learned otherwise - we were able to get some work done on some home projects.
And we tease our kids about not being able to be in constant contact with their friends via cell/text... think it felt like they do when they have their phone because they left it somewhere... LOL
yep - back to the rat race we go...
