Crappies Are Funny
#1
Fished WB yesterday out of my canoe because my driveway is being replaced so I can't get my boat out of the garage. Started where everybody was gathered for crappie, but the morning bite had gone away. So, I started trolling cranks west. The first fish that hit was a 13" crappie.... on a walleye SR7. Reminded me of the huge crappie I caught at Pineview many years ago on a jig and pig.

I caught one nice 'eye on a Fire Tiger SR7, everything else hit the walleye plug. Ended up with 3 walleye and two big crappie. I stopped off at the crappie spot on my way in and caught a few more on a 1/16oz jig. These were smaller but still nice, I guess big bait, big fish? I put out the SR7 on the troll back to the marina and caught one last fish.

Trolling in a canoe is doable, but a lot of work. I paddled more that 8 miles, and got as far as a mile from the lightpole. Can't wait to get the boat out of the garage.[Smile]

We do a lot of trolling in canoes out in the Basin. I find that it is super relaxing and it's always good to get a little workout, right? Nice work on the Eyes and Crappie.
