drumking, Watts Bar tailwaters, white bass, 5/26/15, Dr Phillip Gawthrop
#1
Dr Phil only had time for a very short trip to the WB tailwaters this AM. So, up at 4:45, make coffee and hit the road. Short stop at Hardee's in Decatur for egg/cheese biscuit, then on to the ramp. We caught 6 big white bass, 2 drum by yours truly, and 1 small rockfish that would not qualify for a ride on the Tyner Lane shuttle. We saw a couple more boats up there. One was catching smaller rockfish on live bait, and the other boat was catching Drum. emoBigSmile I did notice that they were releasing my pets.

We threw 1/2 oz shadhead jigs with plastics on them. A fair current, but would have been better if just a little stronger. No walleyes, but we suspect that we may have had a bite from them. The paddletail on one of my baits was missing after I had a bump and tried to set the hook. Probably bitten off by a fish. emoBang emoBang

That's my story for today and I'm sticking to it. emoBigSmile emoGeezer
