UT Lake Cats
#1
So, due to a recent medical issue, I'm not allowed to take the boat out until cleared by neurologist...lame!
Anyway, in the meantime, I was thinking about making the drive down to Utah Lake, where I have never had the pleasure to fish, and look for some of them fat kitties I see coming out of there! Does anyone have any suggestions? I need places I can find on google maps, as I'm not too familiar with the area.
Thanks, any help would be awesome and if you help me out, I will try to pay pack with a trip to Willard once I'm cleared to be on the water again!

I'd recommend going to either Am. Fork or Lindon boat harbors. See if you can find some carp cut bait or even the sucker meat you can find at Fish Tec. or Sportsmans.

[#0000FF]Sorry about you being "grounded" for a while. I went to Lindon yesterday. Found both cats and white bass in fairly shallow water within casting distance of shore. Better on the outside but still a few fish inside.

Lots of carp available...if you can "force feed" one for bait. Also plenty of white bass available on small jigs or a piece of worm...ditto for carp. White bass are always a good bait.

Pretty much the same advice for American Fork.

Good luck.

American Fork has been killer for me but has slowed down a bit, not enough for me NOT to go fishing though. If your fishing from shore go into the harbor and fish out towards the lake, try casting as far as you can using shrimp or whitebass meat. the mudcats seem to not leave your bait alone if you cast close. They seem to prefer fresh whitebass then the ones I put in the freezer and defrosted again. I caught 5 on Tuesday and lost 5 right when they were hitting the shallow water with all the rocks.
I fished from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, after 4 a ton of people tend to show up especially at the river mouth if your going for whitebass and that equaled tangled lines every other cast, so I usually leave before they get there.

Does this grounding include tagging along with another boat owner? You're ways welcome to tag along with me during the week. My wife hates it when I go alone and won't let me take the boat out alone. So I usually use my toon.
