Willard Bay
#1
Went to Willard by myself today. All my normal fishing partners were unable to go. Been a long time since I launched boat by myself. Is it possible to launch or recover without getting wet. LOL Anyway pulled cranks with snap on weights caught 3 walleyes and 6 wipers yes I only went home with 3 wipers. That goes against my boat rules no catch and release but state law overrides mine.

Talked to another couple that had caught 12 walleyes I always seem to catch something but never have everything dialed in. I need to learn much more

WTG Goose..

Should have called me. I went out as well.. Let me know if you want to go tomorrow. I don't have it all dialed in either but I love being out on the water. I caught one Walleye, one Wiper and 4 catfish today and had a blast. Would love to catch more Walleye but Wipers and Cats fight better LOL...

PM me if you want to go anytime. I live by the North Marina

One plus about loading the boat up with kiddos, rarely have to worry about being over limit!

Having to worry about the limit is a good problem to have. Means you must be doing something right. Plus it is more exciting than leaving with nothing but a skunk smell.

When you are launching by yourself try tying a 50 ft length of line onto the front of your boat and the other end to your trailer then back the trailer up till the boat floats off then pull the tailer out of the water. All you have to to do then is untie from the trailer, pull your boat to shore and go park. No getting wet! A guy told me his technique a month or so ago and it works great--haven't got wet or had to climb in and out of the boat and over the truck--simple. Since the water level has come up it is even easier at Willard.

I bought some breathable hip waters from Cabalas they are stocking feet, light and roll down real easy like a pair of pants. A little pricey but worth it. They are so light you don't even know they are on your legs. I roll my down to my ankles once I am in the boat. Then pull them up above my knees when I go to load the boat.
