new to fishing and orange county! help!!

Hey guys thanks for having me on your forum, I actually just fished for my first time 2 days ago for about an hour, then I got a trespassing ticket. Guess my buddy didn't know what he was talking about when he said "its super chill" then last night I scored a bite but got so nervous I hooked him like a sissy. I'm headed to Irvine tonight, see if I can get some luck paying and playing, but with the instant amount of love I have for this sport. I can't afford to fish everyday! I'm open to tips, tricks, and maybe some local freshwater spits in south orange county. Area. Let me know and thanks again!!! Cheers
