Catfish

I want to know how to fish for catfish. I am a beginner angler, and I want to know what to use for catfish, like what type of hook, type of bait, and everything else that is good for onshore fishing. I have a 6'6'' Black Max 2 baitcaster, medium strength rod, and 6:4:1 speed reel. The reel has 15- pound tested monofilament line. Please help
