Went up to Chick last Thursday to help a buddy of mine practice for a club Tx he had out of HBSP on Friday night...Launched about 10:30 out of Wolftever &amp; started off trying to get some bites out of the grass...we didn&#39;t have much luck with this for about an hour &amp; 1/2...Changed over &amp; started fishing main lake chunk rock banks &amp; started catching fish.. Nothing worth mentioning as far as size except for this smallmouth... That fish made the night.<br /><br />We were sitting in about 15&#39; of water with a good cast towards the bank throwing spinnerbaits. About 2 in the morning I made cast &amp; got about 8-10 cranks into it when this Smallie hit... Pretty much a signature strike from a smallie...rolled the line up when she hit &amp; a very acrobatic fish...jumped about 3 times...a lot of fun...<br /><br />I&#39;ve caught bigger smallmouth on the river but this is one of my bigger ones from the lake side... Ironically in my buddies club tx he ended up catching all of his fish Friday night out of the grass instead of off rocks...guess that&#39;s fishing though....
