[#0000FF]Fun, fun.

Looks like the water level is dropping again. Where did you take that picture?

I hear you and the picking is plentiful outside the Provo marina outer west dike. just walk the outside and shoot as many as you want.

If you like using chubs for bait, scofield seems to be a bait factory at the moment. I went there on the 4th and caught about 75 chubs while fishing for trout. All between about 8-12 inches and nice and fat.

TD-- Took that pic and shot the carp just past the orchards. Attaching another pic with the knolls in the background. Still lots of carp wallowing around out there at the water's edge.

Lots of trucks driving out on the rocks to get to the diminishing shoreline. Lake level is going down fast now. Nicked a rock with my prop this a.m. where the launch channel narrows near the outlet. No damage done.

Went out to Bird Island and the deepest read I found was 7.5 feet. The island is bigger than I have seen it for a long time... good cats there but nothing big today.

Fish on....

[#0000FF]Sounds like it won't be too long before you gotta trade your boat for your toon.

How deep is the boat channel now. And is it possible to drive out on the rocks at first spring yet?

Yeah I think the boat and UL are done for the year. It's toon city there for me after last nights outing. I noticed the channel was a lot shallower than a month ago.

When I was down there a couple weeks ago I used paint marker on the post going down the dock, marked it and dated it, maybe it stayed this time, couldn't hardly read the marker I put on in April. I was surprised it hadn't gone down further, as long as it don't get much lower than last year, can always use the bow motor to get in and out.[Smile]

Channel is at about 2 feet now.... a little more in some places. Saw some power-type boats coming as I was going but not sure if they got in/out okay. It's not looking good... for boaters. I'll hold out as long as I can and then break out the toon.[:/] I'm still not all that keen on having my legs wrapped up in fishing line and then hearing an ominous bubbly hiss as I try to bring a big 20 pound cat onboard.

No vehicles on the first spring rock shelf yet. Most of it is exposed but not yet as low as it was last year when access was easy. Frequent people walking out and fishing off the rocks so it won't be long before the first vehicle gives it a go. Maybe we will be able to walk out to Bird Island this year.[frown]

MSM-- I've looked for your earlier mark and never could find it. Will check again for your latest grafetti (sp?) the next time I go out.

[#0000FF]Sounds like it will be a lot lower this year than last year. Way ahead of last year's low levels.

We need to get you up here to the tubeatorium and get your inflated ride properly set up as a fishing machine.

By the way, your fears of being hog-tied by fishing line and deflated by an Angry cat are largely unfounded. Bigger cats usually don't have sharp spines anymore. They are blunted after a few years of rasslin' in the rocks. And once you learn how to maintain position with your fins and to control cats in close you shouldn't have to worry about the line wrapping either. But I will be sure to bring a video camera just in case.

Make your self a good sushi board and that will give a nice hard platform to rest the kitties on. Less fear of puncturing it this way. Also a good pair of lip grippers help too.
