Strawberry July 9th
#1
Headed up to Strawberry Bay arriving on the water 5:45 a.m. Fishing with down riggers we were targeting koke. The first two hours were slow. After the fog kind of burned off, the fishing picked up. We ended the day with 36 fish, kept 9 kokes & the others were fat cutts 19 -20 inches. We lost another 10 -12 fish on the way to the boat.

A thunderstorm chased us off the water at noon. Did get a photo of something you don't see everyday at Strawberry - check it out! Saw this at 12:40 p.m.

For you DAV fishermen, we caught the majority of the fish with a Kokanee Creek "citrus punch" spinner behind a silver shockwave dodger tipped with a green maggot. Had three of these, out of 4 poles, and we had constant hook ups until we were chased off the lake. The fish were still biting when we left at noon.

Tight lines . . .

Oh - we started out at a depth of 20 feet and ended at 30 feet. Fished a little at 40 feet - they turned out to be all cutts. So we came back to thirty.

That's a very good day of fishing! The pic is cool, but, at the same time a little scary.

Yeah, "Chased us off the water" is a gentle way to say it. Nice pic, that should get you into the SnapShot at least.
