Our day could be summed up in one sentence, "Today was the day of letting big fish get away." We lost five bass that any one of them would have put us easily over 20 lbs and had us getting a check. emoBang We just could not keep the fish on today. I lost two on cranks that we saw both and each was easily in the four lb class or better. Derek lost two heavy bass on swims and one huge fish on a jig. emoAngry They were just hitting funny and not really eating. I would say we managed around 20 bass in the boat with another 15 lb sack we culled but never could get that kicker we needed to get us up in the top ten. Had our chances. We had two over four and three between 3 and a half and four. Our best five we managed to get in the boat weighed 19.58 lbs, they paid 12 places and we were 13th. emoBawl

We started shallow and could not buy a bite, how these guys who keep saying they are catching them shallow are doing that is beyond me. emoScratch We wasted the first hour and finally moved deep. Cranking on the river in about 25 foot I had our first nice one load up on it and it was one of our fours. That set the tone for us for the rest of the day. Fishing from 15 to 25 feet we pretty much threw our arms out of the sockets with cranks, chatters, swims and jigs. Had a couple others on a shakey but none of the shakey bass every reached the scales. All in all it was a very nice day for us. About burned up this morning with the heat before the clouds moved in with a little breeze. Then we got clobbered by a storm that ran us into someone's boat stall which we borrowed while it rained, lighting, thundered and passed. Gave us a little break and we ate lunch while waiting. emoSmile

Can't win them all, we got a good amounts of points for today and also a nice consolation prize. Thanks to all the officers and workers of the CBA who make them happen. emoThanks Jmax
