Mr. S, Chick, Crappie, 08/30/15
#1
Well I slayed them by no means today, but I did slow down and think. Left HBSP about 8:30 am and headed up river. I haven't fished the Chick for many years as yall remember. A fellow angler passing by as I am shooting a dock started a conversation and he pointed me to a near by slough. I checked it out, and found a couple brush piles and as fortune would have it they were holding fish. 18 to 22 FOW at the bottom of a drop. I boated only 4. 2 were keepers but the other 2 that came from deeper brush were 14 to 15 inches. Not a stellar day but better than my usual effort. I was using BGBS blue ice I believe, and minnows. The larger fish came on the minnows. The bite seemed to die off when the sun popped out. I spent most of the day in this one slough rotating locations. And just a note I noticed the lake was down by 2 feet this evening when I returned to the dock. I'll get the hang of it eventually.

I'd Rather be emoAngler
