The fishing on the "Big-G" is finally getting where it suppose to be for this time of year. We've had a very good week with cool temps and even though the rain did beat the grass mat's down a little the fish are finally getting a little more aggressive. The deeper grass bite with Choo Choo Lures spinnerbaits and 1/2-3/4 oz. swimbaits has really gotten turned on and will only get better from now through the Fall. This was our main focus the last couple of days and got to see a great improvement in the more aggressive bite than what we have had in the last couple of weeks. The "flippin n punchin" in thick grass bite has been the most consistent up until now, but it can make for a hard, long, and boring day for clients wanting to look for some fun fishing and experience different ways to pattern fish. The Snag Proof Frog bite will be wide open as soon as the mat's get back to normal from all of the rain that we have had, and that should be within just a few days. There will be a lot of patterns that will start producing some good bags of fish now and that's what we have been waiting for. Don't forget the Guntersville Lake Snag Proof Frog Open is Oct. 3rd. and it will be here before we know it. This will be a great time of year for this tournament with the cooler temps and aggressive Fall fishing. "It's Frog Time"! Get out and have fun. Mike Carter
