It's that time of year again. I've noticed stores are stocking the ice gear now. Anyone planning on adding to or upgrading equipment? I am still looking at jaw jackers. I didn't get one last year due to the dismal ice fishing season we had.

I'm going with sportsmanship warehouse. Otherwise I am not sure price wise who else has them.

It is that time of year again. I have had ice fishing on my mind lately. I'm looking at upgrading my pop-up shelter. I would like one with a little more room and two doors instead of one. Hoping for better ice this season.

You could make your own JJ. I found some triggers a few years back and made my own, using PVC. If you like I can post some picks, if I can find them and give you a link to the triggers, the cost is $10 for three triggers.

That looks like a clever invention. Pretty tricky. I remember my days of ice fishing at Willard. We never really needed those much for the Crappie. They seemed to set themselves on the hook pretty well.
I imagine the fish have been getting smarter over the years and something like that would help especially if you don't have the gloves with the peel back finger to detect the ticks on the line. [cool]

Ordered some of those amazon auto set thingies today.
I plan to rig mine a bit different (I think). I'll post pics when I get it set up. I think I can rig some of those up on my jigger totter tip-downs.

Well I can't find those pics I took of how I used them but I do have one set in my ice fishing gear. When I get a chance, I'll get my stuff out and put it together and take some pics.

Did you ever get your auto hook sets from Amazon? If so, did you get them set up and tried them yet?

I now have a new jaw jacker to go out and try. I have a feeling I will be getting more for the family.

I got some and tried them. They work okay. No complaints. I just don't use them much. Don't really fit my fishing style.
