Made it up to Hyrum yesterday. Got there about 0930 and launched the Yak.

I was hoping to find a honey hole and do some jigging but that didn't happen. I don't troll with any of the big stuff so a jig I had and a jig I trolled.

I took me an hour before I hooked up then it was 1 an hour until 1200 then it picked up and it got to be a pretty regular bite. I had plenty of trout to make it an interesting day. Didn't count. I also found a couple of pods of perch so I played with them for a few minutes. Caught a couple which were on the small side. It was hard to stay with them as they were on the move. The ones I got were not the bragging type, 6-7". Maybe if I could have stayed with them I may have been able to cull through them to find something larger.

I haven't fished for trout for a couple of years so I was happy to get some for the table. The trout I caught were mostly 13" some smaller, one larger by an inch. People I saw out in boats looked to be getting the same.

Water seemed to stay at about 46* with an occasional warmer spot by 1*.

It was a fun day to be out. If you enjoy bird watching there is a Bald Eagle up on the east end and surprisingly some Loons. I normally see Loons in the spring not the fall.
