Moving to Mountain Home
#1
Not a super active member on the board but just found out we are moving to Mountain Home. I have become pretty familiar with Rexburg area and am Sad to leave it. Gonna have to find new hunting and fishing areas now. Any other the members living in the Mountain Home area?

Mountain home is a hidden gem. I live near Rexburg now but grew up in Mtn Home. There are more possibilities for public land access and for the most part less crowds. There is also more variety of fish. If you hunt waterfowl and upland game you are in luck. PM me for more info if you'd like. Good luck with your move

He'll have to learn how to fish for something other than trout down there. [Wink]

Will be good to have you closer to home. Don't forget the SF of the Boise will be in your back yard. It can be a really good fishery....... and it's right up your alley with the drift boat and all. [Smile]

I moved to Mountain Home from Boise back in April.

Strike has just about every type of fish you can catch in Idaho and is only about 1/2 an hour away. It's a phenomenal fishery for rainbow trout, perch, crappie, bass (smallmouth mostly, some big largemouth), catfish, sturgeon and even carp if you're into that.

There's also a small fly shop that opened downtown earlier this year. The guy doesn't keep a whole lot of materials in stock, but he can order just about anything you want at prices comparable to Cabela's and other shops.
