Was driving past these reservoirs today, and saw numerous tents, and holes punched. Was wondering how was fishing, and ice conditions.

[cool]There's already a report filed on this page about Scofield, and as you'll find out, it still sucks, like last year. Infested with chubs and no more big rainbows. Only a few big tigers and not really worth the gas and time unless you want to really stock up your freezer on bait (chubs) for catfishing, etc. next year...
Huntington (aka Mammoth) is fishing great right now with 4 safe inches of ice. The tigers seem to be making a comeback after aout 5 years of smaller and less fish after Doug Miller Outdoors (or was it Adam Eakle?) did a whole show on it five or six years ago and it got extremely crowded and over icefished for a few years. So have at it, Huntington appears to be back! Cleveland. I haven't heard any direct fishing reports of it, but I do know that it has safe ice. Cheers... [signature]

Fished Huntington and Cleveland yesterday, 12-1, and there was safe ice at both. We were hoping for Electric Lake but it was still wide open water. Huntington had 3-5 inches of ice and there were almost constant fish on the finders but we couldn't get them to bite no matter what we threw down. Ended up catching about half a dozen but never did figure out what they wanted. Any suggestions on what works at Huntington would be appreciated. We tried worms, chub meat, etc and it has worked for me in the past but they had lock jaw for us by the dam.
Cleveland was even slower, hardly had any fish on the finder and ended up catching half a dozen or so there as well. Never ice fished Cleveland so it was fun to try and it was a beautiful sunny day so it was great to finally be back on the ice. [signature]

Fished Mammoth yesterday, 12/2. Invited 2 15" tigers home, returned 12. My fishing partner kept 3 and turned back 3. The bite was very light and you had to be right by the pole. Some action while jigging, but best dead stick and set quick. I think a jaw-jacker might have helped. We used red, pearl and green jigs tipped with nightcrawler or meal worm. I think the crawler was preferred. Fished from daylight until noon. First fish caught right at sunrise. Then steady with a flurry of fish right at noon as we were packing up. Beautiful weather with the high pressure and inversion in the valley.
