Weston/DeepCreek

Was able to get out on the ice for about an hour Saturday evening. I was hoping to hit DeepCreek but it still has open water! Weston had 4 good inches of ice. The fishing wasn't great but did manage a couple. I was supprised that weson would have ice and deepcreek wouldn't. I wouldn't think the temp would be much different.

I believe that is has to do with Weston being more on the shade side of things . . . if that is the proper way to put it. So, the sun doesn't have as much as an impact that Deep Creek would have. I have gone up to Deep Creek before and the shady side on that lake had a half an inch of ice the beginning of November. But it was just in that shady spot. Anyway, at least you got out; I'm finally headed out this weekend for my first ice fishing trip. Not sure where yet.
