Heading to Fish Lake early tomorrow going to do a red eye trip from Ogden area. I have never ice fished there before but I hear the perch fishing can be outstanding. Taking 6 yo grand daughter hope to get her on some fish. Any info as to where to park and the what s of it all as in depths, baits and locations would be great. Thanks

I love fishing fish lake during the Ice season. Thinking of going up there on Saturday myself! The best thing I have used is a maniac cutter bug jig in white with red flakes on it, tip it with a meal worm and jig it right off the bottom anywhere in about 15-25ft of water. Smaller white tube jigs would probably work as well. It will catch perch, rainbow, and splake and then when you catch some perch use the meat to tip your jigs and you will catch a lot more splake. the best time is to be out there by 7 am or earlier and the fishing will be good until about noon, then the fishing picks up again around 4. Just my experience anyway. We caught around 45 fish between 2 of us in 2 hours last week. There is a lot of snow this year but they have plowed around the lodges for parking.

The south end is as good a place as any. Typically any where near the weed bed that goes around the edge of the lake is a great place to look for the perch. If you're not getting bites after a couple of minutes you may need to move around until you find them.
I went this last week with my dad and son and we had a hard time finding the perch. In fact I think it's the first time I haven't caught a perch at Fish Lake. We still caught quite a few splake and bows so it was still a great day.
Good luck and don't forget to post a report to let us know how you did!
