Same general area as last Tues. and Thurs. P.M., except this time I have my own new fish hut - red Eskimo's 3 pop-out...not expensive, now $159.99 at Sportsman's...it worked good for 2 people, wouldn't want to try 3...anyhow, the bite started at 6:00 again, and lasted 'til we left at 8:30, I pulled in 15 nice 'pies, again 81/2 - 91/2" ers...fun nite again, and delicious on the plate...N. Cemetary Pt again...ice conditions were good, no slush...8 deg when we left...fish were finicky on what they wanted, but trying something different seemed to work...Guluk...

That's a good tent. I've got the two person and wish it was three. I should have waited for the post Christmas sales. Thanks for the report. I need to get back there next week.

I also wanted to add that last nite (Tues.) was clear, cold, and full moon...so with those conditions, and still having a pretty good bite, we felt pretty good. Now, when we get that low pressure again, some clouds, maybe a lite snowfall....can only get better?? Of course, the Fishing Gods may smite me again, and I'll have to say that it's all just plain luck[:/]

Yeah, we got basically run off the ice by the cold Tuesday night. I knew I should have taken the tent, but I rely heavily on moving around to find fish, since I don't have electronics, and hate the hassle.
It was way too cold to manage line. Ice would form in the hole in minutes. We were probably right out north of you, since there were few people on the ice, but only lasted 2 hours and 4 fish.

Saw you guys go out past us...extremely hard fishing w/o a shelter and some heat when it's that cold, and dark...I tried it there couple weeks ago with just a lantern, but keeping my hands in my pockets to try to stay from freezing, it was just too hard to react to the tiny bites fast enough...I missed at least 20 such bites that nite, caught 8, but also had to leave early because of cold and frustration...didn't matter where we were in that general area; when the bite started at about 6:00 p.m. the fish stayed around, so there was no need to drill more holes outside the tent....although I would have, if it was daytime, and I was fishing for perch or trout...Guluk..

Clem -- we're in 40 ft, and fishing just one or two ft off the bottom, and occasionally teasing them up to about 35 ft...Guluk...

Yeah that whole area is basically the same depth, like a big underwater pan or flat with fish spread out all over it. Closer to the point is where there is more abrupt slope and more changes.
