Braved the storm and launched at the marina on snowmobiles and headed south to Renegade. I was pulling a 2 ski sled and thought a couple times I wasn't going to make it. I felt like a farmer plowing his fields for the season. There was a spot in between Haws Point and Renegade that nearly swallowed me up. Glad we made it and had a good day fishing. It wasn't as hot as its been but steady. Thanks to Oak Lane Outfitters Ice guiding service who once again put me on the fish.

Thanks for the report, it sounds like tough going... Hope it freezes up so the slush monster doesn't ruin a good ice season... Thanks again for the info... J

[#800000]The last 2 years we've gone up there in March and there was zero slush in March both years. Good ice through to the end of March both years. I predict that 2016 will be a repeat of 2014 & 2015. Had a couple of 35 plus fish days in both years.[/#800000]

sounds like you had fun, I would like to try Strawberry in the winter, I never had a snowmobile before this year to get around the lake with, this year the wife and I bought one to use for hunting and ice fishing. I get a little leary about going by ourselves in case of trouble on some of the big waters but I think we are going to give it a go on Strawberry this winter. Thanks for posting and the picture.

Packman if you just stay on the trails already made by other snowmobiles you should have no problems as they freeze from being packed down.

Thanks, but you must mean packfan[crazy] The wife and I pretty much blasted our own trails when we fished Cascade in ID. a couple weeks back, had to use the GPS to get out to our spots several mornings due to fog and to get off again a couple nights due to heavy snow we couldn't see the shore line. Made for some interesting riding but a fun trip none the less.
