Holmes Creek 2/3
#1
The fishing at Holmes Creek Reservoir was pretty good today. (Best day I've had this season) I was fishing in 7-9 feet of water. At the very first I caught 4 bluegill within about 5 minutes and then caught 4 trout throughout the rest of the time. I only fished for about an hour. I was using a small ratfinkee with a wax worm. Still not super great fishing but better than it has been.

Pretty good catch for the time invested. I'm not familiar with Holmes Creek where is that at? Thanks for the report. Later J

Two were pretty small, and two were what I would call medium, I caught one more very small one today.

Cool to have a spot close for kids and short trips. Probably won't fish it myself, but I live else where and have my own little spot. Thank you J

I used to live about five blocks away, and it was a great "two hours after work" place to fish in the spring and summer. Caught my only ever walleye there. But, the place has sure changed. Lots of planted trout there, where 15 years ago it was all bass, crappie, and bluegills, and catfish.

I sure like having a pond close to home as well... I love making the short trips before sundown in the summer when I can go fish for an hour, catch a few fish and still get my farming done... Those are the trips that don't count as trips... Later J

It's a great little spot. I took my youngest boy there today. I had fun fishing and he had fun throwing snow balls so it was a good trip. I agree that it used to be better fishing. I never used to get skunked there, now it happens more often than not. I still love going there because it's only 5 minutes away.

That's great!!! I'm glad you were able to get out and have some fun. Those close to home spots are the best. My close to home spot treats me the same way yours does. I get skunked there more than any other spot, but I still love it because it's close and sometimes it treats me very well. Thanks for sharing your report with us. Later J
