Soldier creek slush conditions
#1
Hoping to hit the ice on Thursday and wanting to go to the Soldier Creek side of the lake. Also will be taking a group on snowmobiles this weekend and they are worried about slush on the ice with the machines. Anyone been on that side lately, mostly from the highway access point down to the dam?

Thanks

I fished the SC last Thursday, I don't think there is enough snow on the ice to cause you a slush problem on the ice. There was only about 2 - inches of snow on the ice & it did get soft in the p.m.; however, not enough to stop a tracked vehicle.

I am heading up again tomorrow - I can give you a more current report after I return home.

Spent the past four days up at solider creek. I was worried about the slush, but we saw none. However, there were tracks from snowmobiles where the tracks had sunk down into the slush (about 4 inches deep) then refrozen. So if you go and it stays warm be careful. Slush can ruin an outing in a flash.
Also there were two different outfits that thought they could drive into the marina, both got stuck. The road has been plowed into the first group of cabins. But unless you're a cabin owner parking is hard to find. ZugBug.

Fishing was just okay, I didn't spent too much time fishing. More time with grandkids tubbing down a hill. Everything I caught were cutts in the slot. Zugbug
