As of Saturday, ice was fine +/- 18 inches of hard clear ice and access was fine. Any slush had frozen and walking conditions were good .

I came home today after fishing Tuesday and Wednesday. The conditions are good for walking and using snowmobiles or ATVs. There is at least 20 inches of solid ice and there is just a few inches of snow in most places. There are some snow drifts with 8 to 10 inches of snow but they were not a problem for my ATV. We went across to the NE side and it was OK all the way across even on Tuesday afternoon when it was very warm. It got a little soft but there wasn't any slush.
Good luck. I'm glad I came home this morning. It would have not been fun out there today with the weather that blew in. Mike [signature]

The fishing was typical Fish Lake. Lots of perch and some trout when fishing shallow water less than 25 feet. We tried for several hours in some big mac spots in deeper water but we didn't get any larger fish. I got one mac of about 3 pounds in 64 feet of water. Lots of lookers and not many takers in the deep water. I think most of the lookers were the smaller macs and splake.
There are still plenty of perch to be had even with the removal recently during the tourney. We caught plenty of perch when we fished off the weedline near Joe's Bush and over on the NE side of the lake. Most all of the perch were less than 7 inches. We probably caught about 200 perch and not one had a tag. Mike [signature]

Did you guys get very many good splake over there? On our trip Saturday, we caught very good numbers of bows (with some decent sized ones), along with a couple tigers, small splake, a brown, and a mack, but the bigger splake I usually get were sparse.

We caught some splake that were 18 to 20 inches and pretty hefty. I caught one near the bottom in 64 feet of water off the Bowery area. The three of us probably caught about 10 of the better size splake but no really large ones.
