Couple Cats UL 4/17
#1
I had planned to get up at 6:00 and be down to the Lake by 7:00. Dragged myself out of bed around 9:00 and made it down there by 10:00... Close enough.[bobhappy]

Got down to Lindon, and threw out shrimp on one rod while tossing a Blue Fox on the other rod.

It was a slow morning for me, but after about 45 minutes my shrimp rod took a run. It hit hard, so I thought for sure it was a channel, but wasn't fighting much so figured it was just a rambunctious mudder. Wrong on both fronts. I was happy to pull in a nice chubby white bass. I made quick work of him, and had my Blue Fox line back out with a slab of white bass.

I got another hit or two on the shrimp, but no more fish landed on that rod. Landed 2 decent sized kitties on the white bass. One going 24" the other going 26". It was sure nice to catch some decent sized cats. They were fighting hard, and got me even more excited for the warm weather to come.

3 guys joined me down there, and waded out about 50 yards and started flinging flies... Fly fishing for Walleye? I didn't see them catch anything, but it was interesting to see.

There was a catfish tournament down there today, that I was thinking about signing up for, but didn't wake up in time. It's a shame, because my 26 incher woulda won the contest and several hundred bucks...[Sad]

Ah well, we'll get 'em next time.

Were you in your new boat? I am hoping to get on the water tomorrow. I hope I get some white bass or a carp. I am out of cut bait. Not sure what to do until I can stick some carp with my bow. I am guessing that carp orgies are still a few weeks out.

It sounds like a fun morning. Too bad about the tournament. [reply][/reply]

[#0000FF]Nice work. Glad to see you got a couple of larger kitties.

We need more water and warmer temps.

I was actually just bank tangling this day. I think I've got everything ready to go with the boat, so hopefully I can take my maiden voyage this weekend. The weather is looking great.

I did see a couple carp here and there, thrashing around in the shallows. Not a whole lot of action, though.

I hear ya. I keep expecting the bubble up pipe to go under, but doesn't seem like the water has come up at all... Hopefully soon.

The weather this week is looking nice and warm. I think the kitties will really wake up over the next week or two.

I was actually just fishing from shore. My tube is in my vehicle that's in the shop...[bobhappy]

I think I've got everything ready to go with the boat, though. Picked up some life jackets. Got my trailer wiring hooked up. Got a battery charger. Got my insurance on the boat (can't believe how cheap that was). I was hoping to take her out Sunday, but I wasn't too sure if it would be a good idea to take it out myself, just quite yet. My old man will be back in town this weekend, so I'm thinking Saturday or Sunday for my maiden voyage.[Smile]

Awesome Kitties! And nice fat little whitey! Can't wait for the temps to jump up and head out to find some kitties for myself!
