Salem Pond and Lake Hill Res
#1
Went to Salem Pond on Sunday for a few hours (830-12), fished only spinners and spoons with maybe a few quick hits, but no luck otherwise. People were catching from shore using power bait and worms from the overheard chatter. It looked like recent planter rainbows for the lot.
Monday night my wife wanted to go for a recon drive to a campground up Ephraim Canyon. There is a very small res (1 acre) up there and it was about 1/3 clear of ice. I read that the DWR planted it with rainbow and tiger trout, but was surprised to find some had made it over winter. I ran back to the car where I had accidentally left the pole from the Sunday trip. I made a few short cast to the ice line and got bit pretty quick. I ended up catching one small (maybe 7-8") tiger trout, and had two other small bites in about 20 casts. It was cold up there and she said I had leave after her reconnoitering was complete, but it was a success nonetheless. I might have to accidentally add a tackle box to the car to leave in there...

Is it a problem that I have three rods and a tackle box in the trunk of my car, and it has been a few weeks since wetting a line?

Probably not, but if it becomes a problem let me know so I can stop at two rods and a box.
