Lee Kay Hatchery
#1
Several of us Tiger Muskie anglers were invited to a meeting this past week chaired by DNR fishery biologists Mr. Chris Penne along with several other DNR officials.

We were given a tour of the Lee Kay Tiger Muskie Hatchery by Hatchery Manager Mr. Randy Harrison prior to the meeting. Here's a video I did up of the tour...Randy is a one-man show and working alongside with Chris and other DNR managers to make the Utah Tiger Muskie program a success. Hope the link to the video works.

Thanks for sharing that video! I have always wanted to go out to the Lee Kay Hatchery and see the process of raising the TM. It was very interesting to me to see!
I am super happy with how UDWR has started taking more of a management approach to its cool and warm water species. Never though I would see the day that we would have a Tiger & Walleye program... Wow things sure have changed!!![cool]

For sure great for Utah especially on the warm water species.

For us anyways the DWR fishery biologists are doing the best they can but that's where the angler comes in also. Be involved behind the scenes with emails and justifiable rationale on issues on species always works.

It was a great tour and meeting and we were happy to get the invite. DWR/DNR along with us had constructive take-aways from the meeting. More good things to follow...especially on this species..

We also informed the officials Utah is in the initial stages establishing of a Muskies, Inc chapter with the future for Utah regarding TM education, habitat, stocking and management will only reach new heights as we all see it...all the officials thought that was great and it will be a hand in hand adventure with them...nothing happens overnight but working as a TEAM always achieves more.

I posted several weeks ago about the establishment of a Muskies, Inc chapter here in Utah. Our first meeting is in a couple weeks...so if anyone is interested shoot me a PM.

That was a very cool video, and very informative. I like watching stuff like this where we actually get to see the behind the scenes.
