We started shallow early and caught several non-keepers and put one keeper in the box. After that, I had my head turned talking to Carl after making a cast and felt a bump. "Get the net" I said! Then I double-pumped thinking I didn't get a good hook-set because my head was turned which caused an awkward hook-set. She never jumped and pulled drag on 17 lb test. Finally landed her and Carl threw her in the well...no need for a cull tag on that one. We managed another keeper before we moved out deeper in search of bigger fish. Ran from Sequoyah down to the dam only managing to cull three times by ounces. With an hour left, we pulled up on a ledge and caught a 3 1/2 lb'r which was at least a pound upgrade. Didn't think we had enough to do it but it turned out to be good enough for the win. Finished with 14 and change and BF which was 8.03.
