Have any of you fished up at Lower Norton Lake? It looks like a good hike and I always bring my flyrod along, but want to know if anyone has had success there.
Thanks.

I haven't been there for years, but it isn't a bad hike. Just like all of the other mountain lakes the fishing will vary according to how the winters have been and when the lake was last stocked. Most are on a three year rotation, and they are stocked with tiny fingerlings.
There are many lakes that I have been to that would have great fishing one year, but almost barren the next, then 3 or 4 years of so so fishing etc... At least with Lower Norton you get a pretty hike, and there is another lake further up to check out. [signature]

It is a cool hike and worth taking a pole along but I don' think that I would hike it for the sole purpose of fishing it. I have fished it a couple of times because I was there. I don't think the upper lake has fish but it is pretty cool. There is a loop that you can hike that takes your through 5 small lakes counting the two Norton Lakes. You end up right back at the trail head. It is a great hike.
