Hey there guys,
If you're interested in doing some shore fishing, either in the US or around the world be sure to check out the site of the United States Shore Angling Association. They have both a freshwater and a saltwater division.
There are a lot of countires in the world where the average guy cannot affort to have or charter a boat so shore fishing is big stuff.
