I have only bought lead lines two diff. times and both I have had the same problem. I am hoping some of you can help me out.
Both times there have been colors right next to each other that were almost impossible to tell apart. This makes it hard to tell where you are at and to tell the wife how many colors I have out.
Is there a brand that you have found that is more distinguishable than others?
We are past due for a change out on both of our lines so I am in the market for new.

Sufix works for me. It shows the different color changes right on the spool. I recently had eye surgery so I can see the colors a lot better too.

I prefer suffix also. It does not have any close color combinations next to each other.

You can take a permanent marker and recolor those colors that are difficult to tell apart. Either that or just use a black marker to mark the end and beginning of each color !! Suffix is great line, but it is pricey due to the fact that it is the line is Dynema over the lead, one of the super lines !!!

Rather than concentrate on the colors, use a reel with a line counter or add a detached line counter and just go by number of feet rather than the colors.

We have one reel with a line counter but that is the one I ussually use. She will be catching and I ask "how many colors are you going out?". Now let me quote "I'm in the brown one or maybe the pink."
After writing that I think you are right. We are going to trade reels and zero the thing each trip. Take some of the guess work out for her, and some of the frustration out for me.
Course there is nobody I would rather fish with.

Is Suffix pretty easy to pull lead out and insert mono for the line change?

I have never used it so I don't know. I would imagine that it would be just like dacron leadcore however and you should be able to set up a leader the same way !! Good question though !!

Setting up the leader is the same as the Dacron. The colors are brighter but it seams to kink a bit ease compared to the Dacron. The sink rate is about the same.

Yes, very easy to work with, have it on both of our lead core reels and love it.
