Gorge help plesae
#1
Ok all my family and I are headed up to FG for 4 wonderful days and I am taking my float tubes for me and my oldest daughter. We are staying at Lucerne, and was just wondering if I could get a few suggestions on what has been working for folks in that area. Also welcome to any suggestions on where we could venture to and get out int he tubes as well, I have not been on the water since early may as I have had to catch up on yard work form the rainy season we had this spring. So please help a dad get is girl on some fish.

Thanks Matt

Lucerne on a tube and you could end up at Antelope flats. I would truck em up to Anvil area, pick any one of the off shoot roads that leads to countless more wind protected bays. Fish shallow for rainbows and bass. Or go real early, get out over 60ft water and jig 3" 1/2oz white/glow jigs for pup macks.

I am with Westfork, go find some protected coves. White tube jigs with some crawler will always produce Bows' and bass in the coves also Marabou jigs, black buggers for fly rods always work also.

I would drive over to sheep creek bay and launch your tube where the river enters the lake. There is a dirt road on the left one turn before the boat ramp that will take you right to the lake. You will catch rainbows and bass right there.

Thanks for all the great info and please keep it coming. I don't leave until Friday. If I happen to wonder down in the evening with a rod in hand are there any chances of helping remove some Burbot in this area and if so what would you use as bait as well?

Thanks again

Lucerne is not known for burbot. A few are caught there jigging deep for macks, but not a fish anyone targets in this part of the lake. If you're fishing the shore near the campground, you should target rainbows, casting or bait.

Just came home today from the gorge. Fished mustang ridge and caught lots of bass and trout. Most bass came from 3 in tube jigs in crawfish color or green. Fishing from a pontoon boat and casting towards shore and letting it sink to the bottom. Trout were caught with panther martins and blue fox spinners.
