Pelican

Headed to pelican this weekend. I haven't seen any recent reports. Just curious on water level and success.

Water is up, fishing is good and the bugs are out!

I was out there week ago (Saturday). Had perfect conditions, small breezes, overcast, warm. I thought he topwater bite would be on fire but was not that great. Still caught lots of fish but nothing big. Many of the fish were caught next to the trolling motor sight fishing. I would drop my work, craw, creature bait down and shake. That would draw fish from all directions and biggest of the bunch would inhale the bait.

We did catch fish on top water frogs, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, and sqarebill cranks. The fish are abundant but could not find anything over 2 pounds all day. The wind really cranked up by 3:00 so we got off the water.

Still a fun day. I had bass thumb to prove it.
