Float Tube Info
#1
Just got off of the phone with the powers that be and here is the latest and greatest on Float Tube use in Franklin County.

Foster, Lamont and Johnson: Need a daily inspection sheet.

Twin Lakes, Glendale, Condie, Windor, Oneida and Treasureton: None needed.

I hope this helps with any confusion.

I'm not sure who you talked with, but in stopping at the check station . . .all watercraft's must stop. We were told if you didn't stop, even with a float tube, you can be ticketed.

I guess you better stop if you pass a check station. I will be coming from the North and will not fish the three reservoirs that require an inspection.

Narrows is not included in this mess. But, you have Glendale, Twin, Lamont, Johnson and several reservoirs over in Oneida County around Malad are totally closed to all watercraft.

Here are two Facebook links that clarify what is required. Basically the Canal companies are requiring everything put on the water to have the inspection done.

Originally in April, they were going to exempt anything under 10ft just like the State does, but, the Canal Companies decided to have everything that floats get inspected.

This is why there is an online petition to get the Canal Companies to at least meet State Regs, and to be a little reasonable on duplicate inspections. See the other thread on here about the petition that I posted.
