Headed up to the wind rivers soon for a scout trip. Don't rember the exact route. But in general what are some good tips and good lures and flies to catch a lot of fish, and some good fish?

Welcome to Heaven, I'm going this summer as well for my annual trip, it's my favorite week of the year. Anyway the Winds can be fire and ice for fishing and it's lake to lake on how it goes. If you're not catching in one lake, then move to the next and you'll find more fish than you can pull in. I'm telling my boys to load up on size 14 renegades. They may not be the best, but they always work. Some areas like streams are great places to fish ant patterns and I even like a stimulator because I can keep it floating after a dozen fish have tried to tear it to pieces. Btw take plenty of flies the fish really tear them up. I also recommended krocodiles, spinners and the jakes even worked. I like the gold and orange Krocodile it's my go to every year. Take bubbles for the flies if you don't take two rods. Let us know how it went when you get back and have fun.
Oh as far as good fish go, that is usually a lake thing, some lakes have bigger fish and they are usually deeper, have to get your lure down deep enough to catch them. I got the fish below two years ago in a lake around 10,000'. It was deep.
Later J

I am way jealous, I haven't made it up the the winds in over a decade. The land up there has a unique kind of beauty. As far as what to use, my go to is a renegade or royal coachman behind a bubble. It has always worked for me. Let us know how you do

Think you replied to my post instead of his, but I agree with those recommendations. J

Renegades, Caddis, and adams for ontop and scuds in orange, green, and tan for below the surface. Pack a sink tip if using a fly rod for the scuds. Scuds are the primary food source in a lot of those lakes.

Thanks for the info. And thanks for all the info from the rest of you. Hopefully I'll do good. Anyone know what the easiest kind of fish to catch is?

I have never seen a Beta move vary fast, so they are pretty easy to catch.
