I'm headed to strawberry tomorrow hoping to catch some salmon, I have never been there before and wanted to know where is the best place to go since it is a huge lake. I have a small raft so will stay close to where I launch. Any advice on what to use would be great also.
Thanks!

Fished for Kokes for the first time also this past weekend. We were in a small boat powered by an electric motor. Tough to get out to deeper water, mostly due to the motors capabilities, and the wind. We tried out near the SC dam and just didn't seem to mark many fish. Without the help of downriggers, i used a 4oz banana weight in front of a dodger and hoochie setup. Getting down wasn't a problem because on more than one occasion i was catching the bottom in 75 FOW. Did spend plenty of time in the 120+FOW also. Tough to tell how much line to let out to get into the right zone. Needless to say there were no salmon headed home with us that trip. Plenty of small bows to keep us intrigued as we hoped for a tag though. Hope you are able to find the Kokes!

I also fish with a small inflatable raft (intex mariner 4)what kind do you have? But I was at Strawberry marina 4th of July weekend and just stayed around the bay. I modified my boat to be able to mount downriggers on and had them down at 25 feet and was able to hook up 2. Couldn't boat them though since I didn't have a net with me (never thought I needed one til I caught a koke). I'm going to try and head back there friday/Saturday and try my luck again. My advice is either go SC side or by the marina since it's more protected waters. The windays can get crazy up there..
