strawberry koke bite is still great

I hit the berry today 7/25 with my grand kids, i must say the kokanee bite is as good as it's been all year. we fished the triangle with down riggers and RMT orange cotton candy squids at 30 to 45 feet down, 1.3 mph the bite was steady all day til we left at 2 pm. we boated 7 nice kokes missed alot and also got some very large bonus cutthroat . including a nice slot buster. should ba a great DAV trip this saturday.

His reply was to mtncat1, so thats likely why you got no PM.
A good rule for fishing the Berry is to look for where most of the boats are located, then fish in that area. There is never any guarantee when it comes to fishing but it helped us put fish in the boat there yesterday. Pink was the best color for us. mtncat1- Good going, glad you guys found the fish. I was up at DAV event Saturday 7/30 and bite is still strong.
Could have done better but I had 2 quiet poles hook tiny, maybe 5" to 7" Koke. Dragged them around for a while before realizing they were on there. We landed 3 good ones but had 4 under 7". Very unusual to get that many so small. [signature]

sorry gripy1 I didn't see you reply the triangle is on the berry side haws point over to the old dam ,then head north toward sage hen knoll until your about even with mud creek then back up to haws point . fished soldier creek Friday and the bite in the afternoon was crazy you couldn't go a 1/4 mile with out a koke on Saturday
