Kentucky Lake & Lake Barkley
#1
We had two decent days on crappie this past week. The other days were poor. We have had 4 + inches of rain the past few days. The lakes almost up to summer pool. The gates are open on the dams and there is a very strong current in both lakes. Both are becoming muddy, especially Lake Barkley. We have been trying different methods and lure, but none have worked very well. With the weather, water levels and such fishing has not gotten started for us very well. Crappie fishing should be slow for several more days at least. The good side of this is the season has been slowed. We were afraid earlier that the crappie would spawn a bit earlier than usual. This weather should put the spring back on schedule. Smallmouth were hitting well in Kentucky Lake on jig/pork combinations along the points back from the stronger current. Whitebass and catfish are slow. We need a few days of sun.

TIP: After the week I have just had, your guess is as good as mine.

BIT AND PIECES: Did you ever wonder why God gave each of us two ears and only one mouth?

www.kentuckylakebarkley.com

Hang in there as I know you will, any day now you will be getting a brake, conditions are the same here in Michigan.

Tough we haven’t had any rain to wash the bugs in the water; they are slow here too. But like I say any day now I will be getting a break here as well.

http://myweb.ecomplanet.com/MESS6438/
Lookie See what the kids are up to.
Dave T.
