My son and I loaded up our small boat and followed the deer hunters up to Current Creek this week. Air temp was 28 upon arrival at 7am, and 62 when we left around 2pm, water temp was 48. We had fair success trolling Jakes, Rapalas and Flatfish in 19 to 35 ft of water on the north end of the reservoir. Had the place to ourselves until a couple of Hunters came down in the late morning hours to throw from the bank. We decided to take 4 back home to test out the new smoker. Calm water and a beautiful day. Here’s hoping we make it out in the boat again before ice hits.
