I didn't get a chance to get out and check ice thickness but hopefully this gives an idea. First two photos are Cleveland reservoir, the next two are mammoth, and the last scofield. At 3pm with the sun out it was only 32 degrees at mammoth so it shouldn't be long for those of us that have the itch.

Can't tell from the picture, but is Huntington covered in ice or is there some open water? Sure wish folks would resist the temptation to toss those rocks out on the ice. A rock can ruin an auger blade really fast and when it snows the rocks are buried in the snow and ice.

Sorry for the quality of the pics, but the lake was about 80% capped with a few only a few strips of open water. And as for the rocks on the ice it's no fun and has cost me a day of fishing in the past.

The Hyrum Dam cam shows ice forming there, I think.

I don't expect Hyrum will freeze for awhile yet. Watch for Mantua to cover first then a week or so after Hyrum will follow. Cutler back sloughs had some ice this morning but it's gone now. But the next ten day report looks like almost enough cold to start tacking things over. It usually takes some really cold temps to get Hyrum to freeze over but I'm hoping with you. Later J

^^^^^^
This!!
I've seen people throwing rocks and have asked them not to since it can ruin auger blades. The responses varied from blank stares to "you don't own the water!" *sigh*
