Fishing was EXTREMELY slow for us. Two cutts on the ice, and neither one worth talking about. We started off fishing the east side and then moved south of Gus' Point. Few fish even showed on the fishfinders. The fish are probably lounging back some where stuffed with cisco. In the afternoon the wind was blowing at a good clip, it snowed, and the only thing that made it bearable was the temperature was above freezing, and I was dressed for the occasion, and the others were in their shacks. Next trip I will take my shack, and drill the hole outside of it (not smart enough to think of doing this earlier, even though I had read reports previously of guys fishing this way) -- a necessity with my long fishing rod. I also put my sled to good use as a wind break.
