Well, met up with polokid and a couple guys from work and hit the berry this morning. Daniels canyon was slushed over, but easily drivable.

The first adventure started when we turned off 40. Just past the Mud Creek turn off, we heard a thud, thud, thud. Yep flat tire on the trailer. Nothing I like doing better than changing a trailer tire at 730 in the morning on an ice covered road.

Got to the Marina at about 815 and got dressed, fire up my old sled and the other sled we had decided not to play today. A shot of ether and still didnt start. So, after 30 minutes of trying we gave up and headed on our way.

Got to the narrows at about 9ish and had a couple bites on a white whatta cricket tipped with a meal worm fishing in 24 feet of water not too long after we arrived and that was it. Drilled more holes and still nothing. Moved to a different spot and started drilling new holes and the auger ran out of gas.

So we headed back over to the marina store to refuel and grab a snack. While we were there the wife called and put an end to the day for me. Probably better she did or something else might have gone wrong.

One fo these days, I am going to figure out how to fish the berry.

*Edit* Oh yeah, the sled that didnt start this moning, started on the first pull when I got home. Go figure.[crazy]

I fished the Berry yesterday (Friday) with my cousin. We took a 4wheeler over to a spot between Haws Point and the old dam. We were about 80 yards off shore in about 24 feet of water. He had 6 for the half day, I had 13. Fished from about 9:30 to 3:00. I managed to bring in 3 fish over 20 inches, one went a fat 24 inches. All fish were cutts, most were caught near the bottom, some about midway up. It was a good day. A little windy, but in the hut, it doesn't matter. The weather was warm on Friday and there is a big slush pool in the middle of Strawberry bay to look out for. The snow was getting a little warm and sticky on the way back and it made the 4wheeler work harder. It was a good day. Didn't see anyone else around us, it wasn't Saturday I guess. Fish On!!!!
